British knot tyer’s nautical decor range launches with new website
British knot tyer’s exclusive online range of luxury nautical rope door stops and accessories launches at www.beautifulhomedecor.co.uk . Set up to showcase a high end range of handcrafted accessories. All made with rope by a highly talented British nautical knot tyer and designer known as The Ropeman.
The Ropeman specialises in the historic rope knot tying skills of sailors from times gone by. These skills can only be achieved with those who have the dexterity and knowledge. The range of decorative rope accessories including door stops, ornaments and hanging decorations, are all handmade using the same incredibly complex knots that would have been used by crews of Nelson’s Navy over 200 years ago. “I make nautical gifts that sailors would have made for their loved ones whilst away at sea for long periods.” says The Ropeman. Included in his range are unique designs available exclusively online at www.beautifulhomedecor.co.uk/the-range
The Ropeman has been practicing his trade for 20 years in a chaotic man shed. Under old Cornish fishing nets, driftwood and other beach combed items are beautifully handmade high quality home accessories made using rope. The new website is able to display these lovingly crafted pieces, away from the shed’s clutter and debris, in a simple easy to use online shop.
The products are aimed at the luxury nautical gift and nautical decor market. They are popular with coastal interior designers and guest house owners that want to add a finishing touch to a room by the sea. The rope decorations are also purchased internationally by those that would like a piece of authentic British craftsmanship. Prices range £15 to £90. At the lower price is the Hearth Brush rope decoration based on a traditional sailor’s brush or whisk. The flagship product is a uniquely designed tall and heavy door stop called The Lighthouse. It stands 49cms tall including its loop handle. It is heavy enough to hold open a door even in wind.
Every item on the website uses either recycled materials or materials from a renewable source in Manila that supports their local economy.
